DENTAL EMERGENCY IN LIMA

Pain is one of the reasons people go to the dentist. A painful tooth can be triggered by hot or cold food and drinks. Heavy biting or grinding may fracture a tooth and cause the tooth to hurt when you chew. Sometimes, when a filling falls out, you may have a throbbing ache.

If you're not sure if a dental problem is an emergency, dentists offer this advice: If it hurts, it's an emergency. This is because even injuries that seem small or superficial can affect the living tissues inside the teeth. Quick treatment improves the odds of saving injured or damaged teeth.

Regular dental visits allow your dentist to diagnose and treat dental problems before they become more severe or painful. But even with the best planning and dental care, accidents happen.

DENTAL DEEP CLEANING

DENTAL DEEP CLEANING
During a typical checkup your dentist will remove the plaque and tartar (plaque that builds up and hardens on the tooth surface and can only be removed with professional cleaning) from above and below the gum line of all your teeth. If you have some signs of gum disease, your dentist may recommend professional dental cleaning more than twice-a-year.
A routine cleaning focuses on preventive dental care and the maintenance of healthy teeth and oral tissues by the removal of calculus, plaque, and common stains. Typically performed twice a year by a Registered Dental Hygienist or dentist, it is usually completed in one appointment.

DENTAL WHITENING IN MIRAFLORES, LIMA

We use LED teeth whitening and you can enhance the coloration of your smile in less than one hour.
Teeth whitening can typically provide results six to ten shades lighter after just one short visit to the dentist. This teeth whitening procedure begins with a short preparation to cover your lips and gums, leaving only your teeth exposed. Your dentist will then apply whitening gel to your teeth. This is applied to the enamel (the protective outer coating) of the tooth and is then heated with a special LED lamp. The active ingredient in the whitening gel is hydrogen peroxide which works to quickly provide the desired teeth whitening results. The lamp activates the gel, helping to penetrate the enamel and bleaching away any discoloration without changing the structure of the teeth. When the LED lamp is turned on, the whitening process, which takes less than an hour, begins.
We are high technology office, with digital x-rays, anesthetic without needle. We offer a carefully selected group of dental services: emergency, Porcelain veneers, replace silver filling for white restorations, digital x- ray, root canal, deep cleaning, dental implants, loose teeth, bleeding gingival, repairing partial acrylic in 1 hour, dental whitening in 40 minutes, and more. Get your teeth whiter up to 8 shades in only 40 minutes. No discomfort, just teeth beautiful in 40 minutes.

ZIRCONIUM CROWNS

Zirconium crowns are the most aesthetic crowns available. They are used because of their very strong ceramic material and also because of their very natural looking .So no-one would believe these teeth are not your own. These crowns and bridgework will not corrode and the normal black gum line that you might see around a porcelain fused metal crown, will not occur, because of the strong ceramic material which is used. Also the hot and cold sensations you might feel with other crowns normally do not occur because of the lack of electrical conductivity.

Zirconium is rapidly becoming the material of choice for dental crowns. It is a remarkably robust material able to withstand the wear and tear of everyday use. More importantly however, it has a translucency that is very similar to a natural tooth. Light is reflected from a Zirconium crown in much the same way.
This means that Zirconium will produce the best aesthetic effect, which is important if your new crowns are to be at the front. It is particularly the case when the crowns will be seen beside natural teeth.
we can now make crowns and bridgework without needed to add metal and so these new crowns are virtually impossible to distinguish from 'real teeth' - except of course we can control their size, shape and colour and thereby provide a perfect, yet natural looking smile.
Zirconium dioxide has been used in dentistry for the past 10 - 15 years. Its strength and durability have been proved. Additionally it is fully biocompatible so there are no risks of allergic reactions. It is increasingly being used in general surgery as well as in dentistry.

VENEERS

Dental veneers are a form of cosmetic dentistry in which a shell or layer of tooth-colored porcelain or composite is placed over the facial surfaces of your teeth to correct worn tooth enamel, uneven tooth alignment or spacing, discoloration and chips or cracks.

Although dental veneers fall into the category of cosmetic dentistry because they create bright, white smiles with beautifully aligned, shapely teeth, they also protect the surface of damaged teeth and may eliminate the need for more extensive treatments. Other benefits of veneers include durability, an improved smile appearance, and the need for little-to-no removal of tooth structure compared to crowns.
The removal of any natural tooth structure is permanent, so cosmetic dentists today prefer to offer patients the most minimally invasive options first. If your natural teeth are functionally and esthetically adequate, dental veneers may not be an appropriate treatment for you.
However, if you have severely discolored teeth, your treatment options may include porcelain dental crown or zirconium crown.
There are a wide variety of reasons why patients opt for treatment with dental veneers:
Stained teeth - badly stained teeth that cannot be improved by teeth whitening or prophyflex treatments can be greatly improved by dental veneers, which function to cover any existing stains on your teeth.
Damaged teeth - teeth that have become badly worn through excessive grinding or by carbonated drinks, as well as those that have been chipped or broken, can benefit from veneers. A small chip on a tooth can quickly be repaired with composite bonding, also knows as "composite veneers". A single damaged tooth can easily be repaired with a porcelain veneer that has the same characteristics and colour as you natural teeth.
Gaps - spaces or gaps between your teeth can easily be closed using dental veneers, giving you a more uniform-looking smile.
Crooked teeth - Veneers are not the ideal treatment for crooked teeth, and from the point of view of preserving your natural teeth structure, orthodontics or Invisalign braces would probably a better solution. However, such treatments can take up to a year or longer. For teeth that are not severely crooked, veneers placed over their front surface will give a straight and perfectly aligned-looking smile. For this type of treatment, many people refer to veneers as "instant orthodontics", as you get a similar end result in a fraction of the time.

DENTAL TOURISM IN LIMA

Dental Tourism means traveling abroad for affordable dental care, dental treatment, dental surgery or dental procedures, which are generally expensive in one's own country. Dr. Cueva goal is to provide the best dental care possible for you and your family in a compassionate, caring environment. Dr. Cueva is a member of the American Dental Associates.

ODONTODIGITAL we want to help you maintain your oral hygiene in a way that will keep your teeth and mouths healthy for a lifetime.
If your employer provides you with dental insurance benefits you are among the fortunate few. A lot of people do not have dental insurance. So when there is a need to visit the dentist, they find themselves digging deep into their pockets. This is what has given birth to dental tourism. To such people dental tourism offers a low cost high quality alternative.
Dental tourism, which is also sometimes known as tooth tourism or dental travel, is not a recent concept. Americans have been going across the border to Mexico for decades for bargain deals on dental prosthetics, affordable dental implants, discount on dental crowns, etc. It's also not uncommon to see American tourists hunting for cheap cosmetic dentistry at dental offices in Peru.
In the US, the main reason for going abroad for dental care is the cost advantage that the foreign country offers. And in some other cases, it's the difficulty in getting the urgently required care on time that leads people to find the care elsewhere.
In Canada and certain European countries with national healthcare system, it's the extensive wait-lists that result into their citizens finding other sources to meet their dental care needs.
Benefits of Dental Tourism: Low Cost, High Quality, Immediate Service, Great Convenience, Travel Opportunities. Some international insurance reimbursement.
While the primary motivation for most customers is affordable dental care, for some people it's a great opportunity to combine dental care with traveling / vacation. Given the low cost of road, rail and air travel, you can even bring your friends or family along. Also, dental appointments don't take much time so lodging expenses are also low.

ROOT CANAL

A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form.

"Root canal" is the term used to describe the natural cavity within the center of the tooth. The pulp or pulp chamber is the soft area within the root canal. The tooth's nerve lies within the root canal.

A tooth's nerve is not vitally important to a tooth's health and function after the tooth has emerged through the gums. Its only function is sensory -- to provide the sensation of hot or cold. The presence or absence of a nerve will not affect the day-to-day functioning of the tooth.

A tooth's nerve and pulp can become irritated, inflamed, and infected due to deep decay, repeated dental procedures on a tooth, and/or large fillings, a crack or chip in the tooth, or trauma to the face.

The final step may involve further restoration of the tooth. Because a tooth that needs a root canal often is one that has a large filling or extensive decay or other weakness, a crown, crown and post, or other restoration often needs to be placed on the tooth to protect it, prevent it from breaking, and restore it to full function. Your dentist will discuss the need for any additional dental work with you.
